Leaving It Up To Fate... I Mean, You

I am at a crossroads.  I really want to roll up my sleeves and make some serious art, dammit.  My problem is that I want to do too many things at once.  As much as I'd love to be sculpting the same time that I'm painting and printmaking, I really need to try and hone in on one thing at a time.  So right now I'm working on a painting, and when I'm done, I've got to decide what I'm doing next.

But I don't want to decide.  So I'm asking you to.

Below is a summarized version of my portfolio.  Then follows a poll in which you must decide my fate.  I will announce the results on April 11.

Here are some of my paintings:

Some stuff I've made with polymer clay:
My third consideration is printmaking.  I only have one print to display (the first picture listed below), but I have several drawings I'd like to convert into linocuts, so I posted a couple examples of those.
Time to vote!  Feel free to get your friends in on this (via Facebook or Twitter, for example).  My future lies in your hands!

Caricatures Are Fascinating

I admit that I am one of those people who want to learn how to do a million different things, but usually don't know where to start.  Drawing caricatures has always been something I've tried, but never excelled in.  This video has given me confidence to keep practicing.  It's a little goofy, but gives some basic step-by-step instructions to creating a caricature (and it's set to Beethoven).  Enjoy!

Irresistible Etsy Shops: Part IV

Hope you enjoy my latest picks!

Could this suitcase get any louder?  Love it!

It's a rainbow factory!  This shop has all kinds of neat-o sculptures.
The coolest bookmark ever.

Want more than a hat, but hate ski masks?  This snuggly hood is your answer.

Do I really need to say anything?  This print totally rocks.

New Project

I am working on a new painting.  A long, long time ago, I was supposed to paint my brother something.  Didn't happen.  So an idea recently popped in my head, and I am finally going to fulfill my destiny!  Or something like that.  Anyway, here's a rough sketch:

My brother is the video game hero.  And he will have a face.

Tattoos Inspired by Famous Artworks

I really like tattoos.  I especially like tattoos that take after artworks (says the art history geek).  I tried to gather up a few that weren't quite as typical, like Van Gogh or Da Vinci.  Check 'em out!

Girl Before a Mirror by Pablo Picasso

The Lovers by Rene Magritte

Banana by Andy Warhol

The Elephants by Salvador Dali

Byzantine Blonde by Alphonse Mucha
(Psst... that's me!)

Do you have a neat-o tattoo?  Send me a picture at sarahnorman1984@yahoo.com and you may see it pop up in another blog post about tattoos :)

Wedding Ring Fail

I married this dude about a year and a half ago.

I really like my wedding ring.

Unfortunately, part of it broke off recently.

So I ordered another one, from the same place, exact same ring.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does that look like the same ring to you?

I'm going to send it back, but I'm not sure if I should try again or just pick out a new ring.

The whole thing is making me a Frowny Franny :(
